I've been a fan and supporter of Lance Armstrong for some time now, ever since watching a biography of what he went through after being diagnosed with Testicular Cancer at the age of 25.
I'm currently reading his book, "It's not about the bike, My journey back to life", an amazing story, truly an inspirational read. Cancer humbled this self admitted, arrogant, disrespectful, angry, young man, and reshaped who he was as a person. Lance said that knowing what he knows now, if given the choice, he would choose cancer. An incredulous statement, but one that reflects the personal growth, and transformation that took place during his "journey back to life".
Amazing to me, that the riders of the Tour De France travel an astonishing 2,290 miles, over some of the most grueling terrain, in just 21 days. I had no idea they went that far! Makes my butt hurt just thinking about it!The rest I'll leave in the book, and you'll just have to read it yourself!
Support Lance and his team, and the LIVESTRONG foundation, because cancer in one way, shape or form impacts us all. Check out www.livestrong.org
End of next week, I should have some LIVESTRONG bracelets available. Check with me at the restaurant, or send me an email. They will be a dollar each, or however much you would like to donate. Or you can pick one up at Dick's Sporting Goods. Also, check out the LIVESTRONG Nike products, all proceeds from their LIVESTRONG line are donated to the organization.
